A couple weeks ago, myself and a few others travelled to Greece to visit a good friend of ours. We stayed in Kos, and I must say the town is beautiful and the people are so friendly. So if you haven’t been there already, I would definitely recommend you add it to your list of places to visit.

However, the reason I’m writing this post is not to talk about the holiday but to share an experience I had. On a "lets just chill" day I decided to style a friend using the clothes she brought with her but with a twist. My aim was to create two outfits she wouldn’t have thought to put together. It was as challenging as it sounds as I was limited in options but I embraced the idea. My friends normal style is very Street with a touch of Contemporary, so we agreed on creating an outfit that would probably take her out of her comfort zone.

This picture display the first outfit I put together. As you can see I have dressed her in a light coloured corset top that defines her curvy figure, but still keeping her looking classy. Which has been paired with elegant trousers which has just the right amount of looseness. I appreciate the vertical stripes on the trousers as they elongates her legs, because when it comes to stripes you have to be careful, knowing what prints, stripes, shapes or patterned suits your body shape ( check out my post "Body Types" if you want to learn more).

I then added the jackets giving the outfit a new look that I hadn’t planned on. As it was a males jacket, I tweaked the position of the jacket so that it was styled in a way to make the outfit look more feminine. As a final touch I added a pair of nude heels, simply because you can never go wrong with nude heels! It goes with every colour you could ever think of. For me they are a must have in every girls heels collection. To complete the look, my final addition were a pair of khaki fringe earrings for a touch of colour. I also think these earrings are staple and they are back like they never left fashion market!!

With this second outfit I decided to create a more casual look. I first turned the top back to front as it worked better to create an ensemble with the trainers. I also love the printed skirt and how the sleeves on the top falls, plus, don’t you think yellow is so her colour!? One of the main reason why I adore this look is because it’s easy to create and it's so versatile. For me, this is the kind of look for during the day, maybe lunch or shopping and at the same time with the addition of heels you can switch it up to be a look for a night out with the girls. As a demonstration, for the night look I simply just turned the top around and added heels and more noticeable earrings. Adding the Red shades that complements the flower in her hair is a nice holiday day touch.

This was an very fun and random styling shoot. I can honestly say that I've learnt how to ease someone into trying something new, even if it's just to see how it looks as they might just turn around and love it, just like my beautiful Model here. Taking risks can only go two ways, good or bad. If it’s bad, this is still good because you can learn from it.
